If you are a car enthusiast, you likely spend a decent amount of time making sure that your car looks as good as possible. This can be a frustrating yet rewarding process because if you do it right, you're going to end up with a car that looks great. Here are some tips for maintaining the body of your car so that it looks amazing with less frustration on your end.

1. Invest in a Tool to Get Rid of Paint Runs

The first thing that you should do is invest in a tool to get rid of paint runs. Running paint can be hugely frustrating because it doesn't blend in well and will therefore not make your car look as nice. However, there are tools that you can buy that will simply allow you to remove the run right after it dries. This will keep you from having to redo the entire paint job in that area and make you feel a lot more in control of your vehicle's body.

2. Reduce the Polarity of Your Vehicle to Reduce Lint

There is nothing more aggravating than trying to do a single coat paint of your car only to have a few little pieces of lint come floating over and stick in the paint job, making your car look worse. Your car tends to draw in lint due to its polarity. You can reverse the polarity of the car by hanging a metal object, such as a chain, out of the window of your car so that it is touching both the car and the ground. This should reduce the amount of lint that your freshly painted car attracts.

3. Soak the Floor With Water Before Painting

Your floor is going to have a lot of dust and dirt on it that you might not even be able to see. When you are walking around your car to paint it, you are inevitably going to kick up a lot of dirt. This can be frustrating because it means that you will have a lot of dirt get into your paint job and make it look less nice. You can reduce the risk that this happens by spraying down your floor with water before starting your paint job and continuing to spray it down between each coat. This will trap all of the dirt and dust to the floor so that it won't get on your car.
